Richard Burbidge Ltd
RBL manufactures timber products. In its 45-year history it has outgrown its historic Oswestry headquarter site...
...In 2006, the company identified the need to relocate to a less constrained site in order to improve productivity and efficiency and enable future expansion.
Many competitors have relocated operations overseas, but RBL wants to remain in Oswestry if possible.
In September 2009, Shropshire Council’s Economic Development report identified that Richard Burbidge Ltd:
- Employs 13% of the town’s skilled workforce
- Delivers 7.4% of Oswestry’s economic output
- Contributes an £8million wage bill to the local economy, much of which is spent within the town
In order to continue to deliver these benefits, the company needs to release its current site for development.
“I live within the local community and am committed to finding a solution to ensure that our business can continue to trade from Oswestry.
“Through a regeneration scheme for our Whittington Road site, we now have a fantastic opportunity to deliver a new, state-of-the-art facility on an industrial site within Oswestry. This will ensure that we can realise our key objective to retain employment and investment within the town.”
